The Nova Medical
FUE Protocol™
A single, tested method, refined at every Nova Medical clinic and carried out at our Aventura clinic in Miami for results that look natural, stay consistent and last.
The Four Foundations of the Nova Medical FUE Protocol
From the first consultation to the day your new hair has fully grown in, each step follows one evidence-based protocol. It sets out how every graft is planned, harvested, implanted and protected, so the finished result reads as your own hair rather than as surgery.
In Miami, the protocol is applied to every FUE hair transplant at our clinic at 2999 NE 191st St in Aventura, whether you live in Miami-Dade, come down from Fort Lauderdale or Boca Raton, or fly in through MIA or FLL. Each plan is overseen by Dr. Adam Rubinstein, MD.
1. Always evolving, only for Nova patients. The protocol is never treated as finished. Each case is reviewed afterwards, outcomes are compared between clinics in the network and techniques are adjusted, so every new patient in Miami benefits from what has already been learned. It is reserved for Nova patients. 2. Every step written down. The protocol spells out the whole procedure, from how grafts are planned, extracted and handled to how they are placed and looked after once surgery is over. It works as a clear formula aimed at strong, natural growth for every patient.
3. A hospital-grade, well-equipped setting. Our Aventura clinic follows the same standard as every Nova location: accredited surgical rooms, a sterile workflow and current FUE technology, so safety, precision and comfort are part of the space itself. 4. One team, patients first. Our surgical team, nurses and clinical specialists train to a shared standard under Dr. Adam Rubinstein, MD, and talk through cases openly with colleagues across the network. The outcome is dependable results, genuine warmth chairside and a welcoming attitude: every patient gets a careful evaluation and straight answers.

Stages
Mapping Your Plan
We look at your current hair, how your loss may progress, what your donor area can supply and what you hope to achieve, then design a plan that looks natural today and keeps working as the years pass. Your hairline is shaped for your face now and for how it will age.
Numbing in Layers
Comfort is built up step by step rather than with a single injection. When you are relaxed, the hours pass more easily and the team can work at an unhurried, even pace.
Follicle-Safe Extraction
Grafts are taken one follicular unit at a time using a narrow micro-punch sized to protect the root. Ordinary FUE wastes the most follicles at this step, so our team controls every variable here.
Cold Graft Storage
From the moment they leave the scalp until they are implanted, grafts sit in chilled HypoThermosol instead of ordinary saline. Keeping them cold and hydrated is a key reason grafts survive well under this protocol.
Angled Recipient Sites
Every tiny site that will hold a graft is cut to match the angle and direction of the hair around it. These sites shape how natural the finished result looks, so the team takes its time here more than anywhere else.
Graded Hairline Placement
The front edge is built soft and slightly irregular, with density increasing toward the back, just as a natural hairline grows. Every graft is positioned for how your hair should look many years from now.
How the Protocol Differs From Routine FUE
Protocol Questions Answered
There is no single fixed version of FUE, so quality varies a great deal from clinic to clinic. Our protocol documents each stage: extraction with a micro-punch targeting less than 2% transection (rates of 5% to 15% are common elsewhere), cold HypoThermosol storage, layered numbing, recipient sites cut to your natural hair angle and a hairline that starts with single hairs at the front. Regular check-ins and growth tracking at our Aventura clinic follow the procedure.
Precisely, stage by stage, until your new hair has grown in. A plan made for you. We look at your current hair, how your loss may progress, the capacity of your donor area and your goals, then build a plan that looks natural now and still works years from now. Defined roles during surgery. Surgeons, nurses and technicians work to a set sequence so every graft is handled quickly and safely, while Dr. Adam Rubinstein, MD, oversees and directs the plan. Experienced medical oversight. Each hairline and density pattern is reviewed with an eye for facial balance and how it will look long term. Complete resources. Modern FUE instruments, purpose-built treatment rooms and a committed team are behind you from your first visit to your final check-up. Meet our Miami team.
Usually only slightly, and price is only part of the picture. At our Miami clinic, pricing ranges from $3.99 to $7.99 per graft, and most procedures fall between $4,000 and $15,000. We do not charge session fees, and 0% financing is offered for the first 12 months. Chilled graft storage, fine instruments and structured follow-up are included in the per-graft rate rather than billed as extras. After a free assessment you receive a written quote for your own case.
Each graft goes into HypoThermosol FRS straight after extraction. The solution was originally developed to preserve donor organs and cells, and it is kept between 2 and 8°C. Grafts rest on chilled trays while the team tracks how long each group has been out, so all of them are implanted within a safe window. Many clinics still rely on saline at room temperature, which gives grafts much less protection.
Success is judged months and years after the procedure, not on the day itself. Support at every step. Our team stays reachable from the consultation through every stage of healing, and you are told what to expect before each one arrives. Structured aftercare. Written instructions, planned follow-up visits and growth tracking are part of the protocol to protect your investment, including practical advice on sun, heat, sweat and pool or ocean water during your first weeks in South Florida. Inclusive evaluation. Nobody is turned away before a full assessment and an honest conversation about their options. Continuous training. Our nurses, clinical specialists and coordinators receive regular updates as the protocol is refined. Our recovery guide covers the month-by-month timeline.
Yes. One written protocol is used in Miami and at every other Nova Medical location. Teams train to the same standard and compare cases openly, so an improvement proven at one clinic is passed on to patients at all of them. At our Aventura clinic, each plan is overseen by Dr. Adam Rubinstein, MD.
