Beard Transplant Miami

What Is a Beard Transplant?

Every man has a personal style when it comes to facial hair, from sideburns and a moustache to a goatee or rugged stubble. Unfortunately, achieving your desired look becomes a challenge if sparse or thin facial hair gets in the way, whether the cause is burns, surgery, genetics, or injuries.

In the past, solutions were limited, leaving many men to accept their circumstances. But today, with modern hair transplantation technology, you have the opportunity to grow full facial hair with a natural look that can be tailored to your preferences.

At our hair transplant clinic in Aventura, we keep pace with advancements in hair transplantation and focus on providing careful facial hair transplants for men in Miami and nearby areas, including Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton.

If you’re looking for a team experienced in hair loss treatments, especially facial hair transplants, we invite you to explore our clinic. Feel free to contact our clinic for any inquiries or to schedule an appointment, and regain your confidence and style with a facial hair transplant planned around you.

Follicular Unit Extraction is the hair transplant technique most commonly used for beard hair transplants. A beard transplant procedure shares similarities with the well-known hair grafting process often used for addressing scalp baldness or thinning. Just as hair follicles are harvested from a donor area on your head and transplanted to target areas, a facial hair transplant follows a similar approach. The follicles extracted from the donor area adapt to their new environment on your face, giving you the opportunity to achieve the facial hair you’ve been longing for.

The Beard Transplant Procedure, Step by Step

  • 1

    Free Consultation & Design

The journey towards a fuller and more impressive beard starts with a thorough consultation at our Aventura clinic. Our medical team understands the aspirations of most patients and devotes ample time to understanding and achieving your specific goals, with every design reviewed by Dr. Adam Rubinstein, MD.

  • 2

    Preparing the Donor Area

Hair at the back of the head is trimmed so each follicle can be seen clearly, and a local anesthetic is given until the area is completely numb. Nothing is harvested until you tell us you are comfortable.

  • 3

    Modern FUE Technique

Our team uses the technique known as Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) for beard transplantation. FUE is a modern, well-established hair transplantation method aimed at natural-looking facial hair that is thick, enduring and permanent. It minimizes scarring and supports a swift recovery period, allowing you to enjoy your new beard sooner.

  • 4

Placing Each Graft at the Right Angle

The hair transplantation procedure begins with the readiness of the hair follicles. Our surgical team approaches the process with meticulous care, and each follicle is implanted to mirror the natural patterns of hair density and growth angle. The considerable time invested in the transplantation phase is what gives the finished beard its natural look.

  • 5

    Growth That Lasts

Donor follicles keep their original resistance to thinning after they are moved, so once the new hairs come in they are expected to stay, growing, shedding and renewing like the rest of your beard.

Beard Transplant Cost in Miami

Beard pricing at Nova Medical Miami follows the graft count your design needs, at $3.99 to $7.99 per graft. A goatee, a mustache or two sideburns may need only a few hundred grafts, while a full beard from cheek to neckline needs considerably more. Our hair transplant cost page explains how the figures are built.

The typical range across our procedures is $4,000 to $15,000, and we never add session fees. You pay for the zones you choose to fill, not for a preset package.

We offer 0% financing for the first 12 months. After your free consultation you receive a written estimate with your graft count, so you can compare and decide in your own time.

Patients come to Aventura from across Miami-Dade and Broward, and some fly in through MIA or FLL. Wherever you travel from, we tell you honestly what your donor area can support before giving you a figure.

What to Expect From a Beard Transplant?

The procedure typically takes around 2 to 6 hours to complete. It is done on an outpatient basis, allowing you to return to regular activities or work the next day.

Facial hair transplant procedures are generally painless thanks to local anesthesia. Initial shedding of some transplanted hair strands may occur within the first 2 months after the procedure, and transplanted hair will start regrowing after approximately 3 to 4 months and will be permanent.

The transplant procedure carries minimal risk, and our team monitors your comfort throughout. You are welcome to bring music or something to watch during the longer stretches of the session.

Beard Areas We Treat

Facial hair transplant procedures address various conditions, including:

  • Sparse sideburns
  • Irregular or insufficient beard growth
  • Limited mustache density
  • Thin eyebrows (see our eyebrow transplant page)
  • A chin or goatee area that never fully grew in
  • A cheek line that fades out instead of holding a clear edge
  • A light jawline that needs more definition

Why Miami Men Choose a Beard Transplant

Most consultations at our Aventura clinic start with one of these four goals, and many men have more than one.

Filling the Gaps

A beard that grows in disconnected patches can be joined into one even shape, so it no longer looks unfinished at any length.

Covering Scar Tissue

Scars from accidents, procedures or acne often stay smooth and hairless. Carefully placed grafts can grow through them and help hide the mark.

A First Real Beard

Some men simply never develop more than light stubble. New follicles give the face hair it was never going to produce on its own.

Cleaner Definition

Even with decent growth, a stronger cheek line, a denser mustache or a crisper jaw can change the whole look with a modest number of grafts.

Are You a Candidate for a Beard Transplant?

Whether a transplant suits you comes down to your face shape, the look you want and the donor supply we find at the back of your head. Men who do well with this procedure often have:

  • Facial hair that grows unevenly or stops in patches
  • Sideburns that never connect to the rest of the beard
  • A thin or split mustache
  • Smooth scarred areas where hair no longer grows

During the consultation, our team carefully evaluates potential donor sites to determine the available follicles. This evaluation serves as the foundation for a personalized surgical strategy, designed to realize your aesthetic vision. Any potential limitations will also be discussed, so your hair transplant goals stay both achievable and realistic.

Natural-Looking Beard Transplant Results

Our team brings hands-on experience with both scalp restoration and facial hair transplantation, and that combination shapes how every beard is designed at our Miami clinic.

Precise technique is paramount. Each follicle is meticulously placed in the correct location and at the right angle to ensure natural growth that blends with the facial hair you already have. We aim for facial hair that mirrors the natural look and movement of your original hair, and every step of the procedure is held to strict standards.

A firm commitment to good outcomes drives our clinic. Our aim is to surpass your expectations from your initial consultation through to your final follow-up appointment.

Our objective is to deliver careful, high-quality facial hair transplantation to our patients in Miami. The meticulous work of our surgical team has left many patients happy with their results.

Dr. Adam Rubinstein, MD, reviews each beard outline before treatment begins, comparing it with the natural lines of your face so the finished result looks like it grew there.

How to Prepare for a Beard Transplant

  • 1

    Medical History Review

In the days leading to your scheduled facial hair transplant procedure in Miami, you will have an essential appointment with our medical team. This conversation covers your overall health and screens for any pre-existing medical conditions, such as asthma and high blood pressure. While these conditions may not necessarily rule out the procedure, telling us about your health status is essential.

  • 2

    Pre-Operative Measures

Preparations leading to the surgery are straightforward. You will be advised to abstain from alcohol consumption for at least one week prior to the surgery. Avoiding NSAIDs and other over-the-counter medications like Advil is crucial, as they can exacerbate bleeding and complicate graft extraction. You should also steer clear of Gingko Biloba, Vitamin E, Echinacea, and garlic.

  • 3

    Medication Protocol

You will receive prescriptions for the medications required in the week leading up to the surgery. These may include pain relievers, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory medications to curb swelling. It is very important to follow the prescribed dosage and frequency exactly.

Beard Transplant Recovery

  • Day 1

You leave the clinic the same afternoon. Mild swelling, redness and tiny scabs on the face are normal that first night.

  • Days 3-5

Scabs begin to soften and many men return to work, following the aftercare instructions we give you. Stay out of direct sun and skip the beach for now.

  • Days 7-10

Donor marks at the back of the head have closed and any remaining facial redness keeps fading.

  • Weeks 2-4

Many of the newly placed hairs shed. This shedding is expected, and the follicles underneath remain in place.

  • ~Month 3

New growth starts to appear, patchy at first, then more even as additional follicles wake up.

  • Month 6

Most men see a clear difference by now, and density continues to build.

  • Months 9-12

The beard reaches its mature, permanent state and can be trimmed, shaped or grown long.

Your Beard Transplant Procedure Day

When you arrive for your beard transplant in Aventura, our clinic team focuses on making you comfortable in the treatment room. We set aside plenty of time for any final questions about the surgery or the recovery process.

Local anesthesia is applied with care to the donor area, usually located at the back of the head. For individuals with balding patterns, donor follicles may be sourced from the chest region.

Once donor follicles are collected, our surgical team carefully prepares each one before it is transplanted. This step requires attention and time. During this period, you can enjoy your lunch, catch up on emails, relax, or even take a short nap. To hear from past patients, read the reviews on our Google listing.

Following the procedure, you may experience mild discomfort in both the donor and transplant areas. This sensation usually fades within a few days, allowing you to move through recovery with confidence.

Beard Transplant Miami FAQs

Is a beard transplant permanent?

+
For most men, yes. The grafts are taken from the back and sides of the scalp, where hair is genetically resistant to thinning, and they keep that trait on the face. After the new beard matures at around 9 to 12 months, no ongoing treatment is required.

How many grafts does a beard transplant need?

+
It depends on the zones you want filled. A full beard covering the cheeks, chin, mustache and jaw usually needs somewhere in the 1,500 to 3,500 range, while a single area such as the mustache or sideburns may need only a few hundred. We give you a written count at your free consultation.

Will my beard transplant look natural?

+
When the angles are matched, yes. Facial hair lies close to the skin and its direction shifts from cheek to chin to neck, and each graft is angled to follow the hair beside it. Once it grows in, you can shave, trim and style it like any other beard.

How long is recovery after a beard transplant?

+
The recovery process is quite manageable and requires minimal downtime. You can usually return to your regular work routine as soon as the day following your facial hair transplant surgery. You might observe some mild redness in the treated areas, which is a normal part of healing. If you notice some hair falling out within 2 to 4 weeks after the procedure, there’s no need for concern. This shedding is a natural part of the healing journey, the follicles remain healthy, and over the course of a few months new hair strands will emerge and blend in with the rest of your facial hair.

When can I shave after a beard transplant?

+
Give the grafts roughly ten days to settle before shaving. From then on you can trim, shave and edge your beard as usual.

Which parts of the face can be treated?

+
Sideburns, cheeks, mustache, goatee, chin, jawline and neckline can be treated, either together for a complete beard or one at a time, with the design matched to your face shape.

Can a beard transplant be combined with PRP?

+
Yes. In addition to surgical options, our team offers non-surgical ways to support hair growth, and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments are among them. PRP uses the growth factors in your own blood, delivered in a concentrated form to your hair follicles, to encourage natural hair growth, and it can serve as a non-invasive alternative or complement to traditional hair transplantation.

Will the donor area be visible?

+
Hardly at all. FUE removes follicles individually, so the donor area is left with tiny scattered marks instead of a line scar, and the surrounding hair covers them within a few weeks.

Does a beard transplant hurt?

+
We numb the donor area and the face before starting, so most patients feel pressure rather than pain. Some tenderness for a few days afterwards is common and is usually managed with simple pain relief.
