The Most Common Questions About FUE in Miami

Scar-free results and rapid recovery time

What Does Miami FUE Involves?

When you’re planning your FUE, you’ll likely come up with many questions, and that’s ok- hair transplant surgery is a big deal.

In Miami, FUE is the leading choice for a procedure that gives natural, scar-free results and rapid recovery time. At Nova Medical Hair Transplant Clinic, we’re often asked two questions in particular:

How Much Will My FUE Procedure Cost? And, How Quickly Will I See My Results?

Here, we’ll try to answer both questions generally and invite you to schedule your own consultation for personalized advice.

Follicular unit extraction allows for individual follicle grafts to be extracted and implanted without leaving visible scars. The micro-incisions are so superficial that they close within a few days and heal in roughly 1 week.

In the past, FUT methods utilized a strip of scalp removed from the back of the head to create grafts. This created an unavoidable scar which would also increase recovery time and make the procedure more obvious. With either method, the skill and aesthetic eye of the surgeon contribute to the natural and realistic placement of hairs at the recipient site. When done well, the effects of the procedure can be flawless.

Find Out

How Much Will Your Treatment Cost?

The cost of FUE will be a little higher than with FUT because the process is labour intensive. Anywhere from $5-$7 per graft is common. Each graft contains between 1-3 hairs on average. The amount of hair you need to be transferred will be unique to you, so it’s difficult to determine a precise number until you see your surgeon in person for a full assessment and planning.

When Will You See Full, Thick Hair Growing Again?

Each person and their custom procedure will be a little different. The amount of hair you implant and the method used will help determine fullness and how much new growth you can see. Modern techniques usually ensure well over 90% success for the grafts. The time it takes to grow will be similar for everyone. You’ll see new, thin hairs around 3 months, and they’ll look wispy and possibly patchy at first. Closer to 8 months out, you’ll see thicker, uniform hair growth fill in. At 12 months you can see full grown results, though they may still continue to improve and fill in.

The hair that grows at one year will be strong and resilient. Because it is harvested from areas resistant to DHT, the hair will thrive where it’s placed, and you don’t need to worry about it falling out. You can cut, shampoo and style as usual.
